Barn Name: Three Peak Ranch Performance Horses
Twenty-two year old Alex Schoen is the owner and head trainer of Three Peak Ranch Performance Horses in Loveland, CO. Established in 2011, Alex specializes in starting colts and raising colorful American Quarter Horses. Alex's background is in Arabians and showing the Arabian Horse Association circuit as well as three-day eventing under the World Champion French trainer, Mallory Minot. Alex grew up in Laramie, Wyoming and found her start not only in the refined English art of riding, but also the old western way of riding. Furthermore, Alex has an intense passion for rescuing and rehabilitating horses. Many of the horses she has rescued are now showing and making their mark in the equine industry. Not only does Alex rescue horses through her personal ranch, she also established the KALgirls Performance Horse program. This program is designed to take in unwanted or neglected horse and give them a new start on life. Alex and her amazing colleagues focus on young horses that are unstarted and bring them in to make them safe and sound performance partners. So far, this has proved to be an amazingly effective program. Starting from the age of five, Alex has not missed a day from being on the back of a horse. Today, Alex is a Junior at Colorado State University and serves her time on the CSU Ranch Versatility Team and the Rodeo Club. She is majoring in Equine Science with a minor in Equine Business.
