Story shared by Dave Fulton

Myers came to AAE last year with pals Portia, Maia, and Whiskey. We went to pick up Maia and discovered the other three were in need of help, too. The horses’ basic care and overall health had been neglected for some time. Myers and Whiskey were stallions who had been tied to a 15-foot rope attached to a metal stake in the ground, likely for as long as seven years. At that time, we didn’t usually take in mature stallions due to the difficult challenges they can represent, but we couldn’t leave the duo there. We took Maia and Portia, then returned for Myers and Whiskey after building two stallion paddocks. Over the following several months at AAE, they gained weight, relearned some basic handling and manners, then received the works (e.g. dental and hoof care, vaccines, deworming, etc), and Myers and Whiskey were gelded. Thanks to the generosity of individuals like you, Myers received the medical attention, food, and overall care he needed to recover. Today, he’s thriving, and now he’s in his forever home, living the life he was always meant to live – happy, healthy, and surrounded by love. He’s also got a little guy who loves horses, and Mom wants him to grow up learning and loving the magic of horses.

Myers’s story is just one of many made possible because of your commitment to helping horses-in-need. Every dollar you contribute helps turn these stores from tragedy to triumph.

Thank you for your incredible support and trust in AAE! Together, we are changing lives, one horse at a time.
