Buck came from an ongoing investigation of neglected horses in January of last year. Buck was pulled from the location along with 11 other horses and was brought to the Society for Hooved Animals’ Rescue and Emergency. He had severe pneumonia and was extremely emaciated and it took several months to get Buck healthy again.
At the time, the rescue had several horses but not enough time to put the training into Buck like he needed. Buck would get regular basic handling and groundwork but had to wait for work under saddle. As the summer rolled around, a new family came along and fell in love with this beautiful guy.
They didn’t care that he had never been ridden or that he could still be a little pushy on the ground. They fell in love with him and his sweet personality. The rescue was happy to see Buck find his forever home after nursing him back to health for so long. They are also excited for this opportunity for Buck to be started under saddle with his new family.
