The morning session of the clinic program will include lectures on common hoof conditions and treatments, as well as question and answer sessions with AFA Certified Farriers, noted equine veterinarian, Dr. Monty McInturff, and Purina Animal Nutrition specialist, Mike Jerina, who will discuss proper nutrition for optimal hoof health. The afternoon session will give attendees an opportunity to observe demonstrations of live shoeing and forging with commentary on the condition of the hoof and the appropriate application of shoes, as well as a body scoring session with Mike Jerina.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to offer our educational program in Tennessee thanks to our partnership with Tractor Supply Company,” stated AFA Horse Owner Education Committee Chairman, Brian Byrd. “When we introduced the new clinic format in the fall of 2016, combining lectures with practical demonstrations and plenty of opportunity for questions and answers, the positive feedback was tremendous. Then, too, there will be raffle prizes and a complimentary lunch, all of which will make for a great day of sharing and learning about quality hoof care for the horses we love.”

“Tractor Supply is pleased to partner with the American Farrier’s Association in providing this educational clinic to the community,” said Steve Barbarick, President and Chief Merchandising Officer.

“We are thrilled that the Tractor Supply Co. Arena and the Park at Harlinsdale Farm are the venue for such an excellent program that provides meaningful learning opportunities to the equine community and supports our customers’ passion for horses.”
