Purina and A Home For Every Horse Announce Partnership with Anheuser-Busch Foundation

New partnership will assist in the health and welfare of rescue horses.

Purina and A Home For Every Horse are welcoming the Anheuser-Busch Foundation.

Equine rescue organizations are overwhelmed with taking care of the ever-growing unwanted horse population, and the grant contribution will ensure that 501(c)(3) horse rescues and sanctuaries will receive aid in providing quality nutrition for the horses in their care.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Anheuser-Busch Foundation,” says Melissa Kitchen, Director of Digital Media—Equine Group for Active Interest Media, the parent company of A Home For Every Horse. “There are remarkable organizations who work tirelessly to provide and find homes for the more than 100,000 unwanted horses in this country, but it is incredibly difficult work. This partnership will go a long way toward providing some relief for those organizations. This will help us help more horses.”

The grant funds will be distributed through A Home For Every Horse—a horse rescue resource that is dedicated to bridging the gap between rescue organizations and the people who can help—as coupons for Purina Horse Feed. Purina has been a title sponsor of A Home For Every Horse since 2011 and through the program has donated more than 1,000 tons of feed to equine rescues.

“At Purina, we believe there is greatness in every horse,” says Jamie Kinnear, Purina Animal Nutrition Director of Lifestyle Marketing. “We also believe that with the right care, the right nutrition, and the right home, every horse can reach their full potential. That’s why Purina is proud to sponsor A Home For Every Horse.

“We greatly value our long-standing partnership with the Budweiser Clydesdales and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, and we are excited to deepen our partnership as they join the A Home For Every Horse Family! We look forward to partnering with them to help horses in need find their forever home.”

Together, A Home For Every Horse, Purina, and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation will explore further opportunities for bringing more awareness to the serious issue of unwanted horses, as well as ways to provide more support for equine rescue organizations.

“Horses are close to our hearts here at Anheuser-Busch,” says Bill Bradley, VP of Community Affairs, Anheuser-Busch. “You need look no further than the World-Famous Budweiser Clydesdales! This donation from the Anheuser-Busch Foundation to A Home For Every Horse will support our wish that every horse is cared for to the same extent as our Clydesdales.”

About A Home For Every Horse

A Home For Every Horse was created in 2011 as the result of a partnership between the Active Interest Media Equine Network, the nation’s leading publisher of equine-related content, and the American Horse Council’s Unwanted Horse Coalition.

The A Home For Every Horse program helps connect homeless horses in more than 600 501(c)(3) rescue facilities across the United States with people looking for horses. To help make the connection, rescue organizations can list their horses for free on Equine.com, the world’s largest horse marketplace, where they can be seen by 300,000 visitors each month.
